I had planned on taking one last trip to Vermont to get some snowboarding in before taking a year off to travel the world. As luck would have it, I broke my humerus that weekend and instead of going into work to resign that Monday morning, I found myself explaining my predicament to the doctors at HSS. I feared that my trip would be delayed or cancelled altogether. Fortunately, there was a surgery available that would speed up the recovery process. It was a complete success and with the help of my physical therapist I was able to continue my therapy via email while on my trip, which didn't get delayed! Now, I'm hiking through Patagonia with no issues at all.
