November 8, 2008 while serving as a Certified Athletic Trainer at a Secondary School Football game, I sustained an injury to my hip following a hit from a host of players who traveled out of bounds during a play. Initially, I obtained care near my home town. However immediately following the first arthroscopy it was obvious I needed the assistance of a more skilled/experienced physician due to unforeseen damage. After a long search and reading numerous journal articles and research studies, I decided to consult with Dr. Bryan Kelly. From the beginning he was intrigued with the case. After my first consult he immediately referred me to my physical therapist. He has been remarkable. Honestly, I am not sure where I would be without him. I moved to NYC for one year in an effort to receive the best of care. I underwent two procedures while staying in the city and I was fortunate enough to see my PT daily. To date I have undergone 7 operations between Dr. Bryan Kelly, Robert Rozbruch, and Lloyd B. Gale. Dr. Jeffery Ngeow has been with me from the beginning. The support from the physicians has been great. I travel to the city monthly for consult/treatment and the PT advocacy department is assisting in an effort to orchestrate a 'team meeting'. My case is complex. I am fortunate to have the assistance of so many great physicians, therapists, and all the support staff. Although I still ambulate on crutches, I look forward to MY TEAM coming together to develop the ultimate game plan resulting in a Winning the GAME - me walking unassisted. If it is going to happen it will be at HSS - of that I am certain.
