As you can see from the photos, my husband and I lead a very active, fun filled life.

For the past two years I was suffering from acute joint pain in my hip preventing me from living the lifestyle I enjoyed. After seeing several orthopedic surgeons regarding this problem I felt most comfortable with HSS doing my surgery. Unlike many doctors today, my surgeon took a great deal of time patiently explaining what was involved and what to expect from the surgery in language that was easy to understand. I am amazed that three weeks after surgery, I am looking forward to returning to normal activities including playing shuffleboard, dancing, etc.

I speak from a great deal of experience, having had over 10 surgeries in the past, including other joint replacements!

My surgeon is, by far, at the top of my list as an expert in his field. He is empathetic and personable as well. Let me not forget to mention the extraordinary HSS staff who works with him at Stamford Hospital. The rooms were clean and spacious. For visitors' convenience there was even a pull out bed and recliner available! Everyone I came in contact with at the hospital, from housekeeping to the aides, nurses and physician's assistants, were very polite and professional. I would be remiss if I didn't single out Viviane, my surgeon's very competent assistant. She went the extra mile in answering all my questions, doing research, and always returning my calls promptly conducting herself in a most professional manner with a great deal of charm!

Once again, I thank HSS and the entire staff for making this surgery the easiest and most pleasant experience I have ever had. No one wants surgery, but if it is needed, HSS is the place to go!
