In June 2022 I broke my arm and had surgery through HSS at NYP with Dr. Hansen. This was my first surgery and I was quite nervous and apprehensive. The entire orthopedic team was calming, caring and professional and answered any question I had. They did their best to relieve any anxiety. When I met with Dr. Hansen he immediately put me at ease. He made sure to answer any questions I had before the surgery and did not make me feel rushed.
Throughout my follow-ups over the next few months I have been lucky enough to experience the most amazing care of any doctor and office.
In terms of the surgery, I have no pain, no lasting effects, just a scar that continues to heal and is the only remaining evidence of my surgery.
Not only is he a great surgeon, in each follow-up appointment, the same care was given. Making sure no question went unanswered, I felt comfortable asking anything. His focus was 100% on me and that I was his only patient.
Each appointment I had ran smoothly and quickly and there were no long waits or sitting in a waiting room for long periods of time.
In terms of the office staff, Rae was incredible and patient with me. I was often rescheduling appointments and she always seemed happy to accommodate and help me. If I ever sent an email it was answered very quickly and with all the relevant info. Rae also made sure that all insurance issues were taken care of before my appointment. There was one point where my insurance pushed back and Rae preemptively offered to reschedule my appointment to make sure it would be covered!
Every doctor and doctor's office should look to this office as a model on patient care.
