Dr. Marx has performed arthroscopic knee surgery to both of my knees over the years. The first was to repair a torn meniscus in November 2008 and the second was to remove bone shards that had broken off when I suffered a partial knee dislocation in June 2011. Following both surgeries, I was back to racing sailboats and training for offshore distance races after only a few weeks of recovery and physical therapy. Since my last surgery, I've logged over two thousand miles sailing offshore in Europe and finished in second place in Leg 2 of the Clipper Round the World Race, where my team sailed from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to Cape Town, South Africa. I'm now racing professionally with the goal of starting to sail in double-handed offshore races in the next few years.
