Being a basketball player, I sustained many injuries and needed an orthopedic specialist. I've had various knee injuries, which led to various surgeries such as: ACL reconstruction, cartilage removal and loose body removal/partial meniscus tear. Prior to surgery, I was experiencing severe pain in my knee on and off the court.

My experiences have been the best. I had Dr. Allen as my orthopedic specialist and he has been not only a great surgeon, but a great person. Every time I visit the office, he is very attentive and compassionate. He always explained my diagnoses and procedures thoroughly. Having surgery is a scary process, but Dr. Allen makes sure that I am at ease and I trust that he will do all he can to make sure my recovery is successful.

My recovery is well with scheduled physical therapy. Dr. Allen recommended physical therapy and it has been nothing but great progress. Every time I attend therapy, my knee gets better and stronger.

Because of Dr. Allen and Hospital for Special Surgery, I believe my surgeries were greatly cared for resulting in my return to basketball.

I would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Allen, his office staff and the entire Hospital for Special Surgery staff for my speedy recoveries and successful surgeries. The staff really assisted me post-surgery and with their follow-up calls to make sure I was well. I would recommend Dr. Allen and Hospital for Special Surgery for anyone in need of an orthopedic specialist. Hopefully not but if I required orthopedic treatment or surgery, Dr. Allen will be my #1 choice.
