When I was 30, I couldn't sit for very long, could hardly walk, and could barely sleep without waking up in agony throughout the night. I was having horrendous hip pain, but no one could figure out why. I did physical therapy, saw all manner of specialists, and got a slew of (incorrect) diagnoses, but no one could help me to actually feel better. It got so bad that at times I could barely walk a block without having to stop due to searing pain.
Thankfully, I was able to find Dr. Kelly. He knew exactly what was going on with my body, and he knew what to do to treat my condition -- not just find me temporary relief. After surgeries on both of my hips, seven weeks apart, I spent a lot of time doing physical therapy and getting my body back to how it had been before my femeroacetabular impingement got the better of me. It wasn't easy, but today I am able to do the things I love again. I can take 10+ mile hikes, I can dance, and I don't have to live in constant fear of the pain coming back.
I am immensely grateful to Dr. Kelly and his team at HSS. They gave me my life back.
