I saw Dr. Sink after years of hip pain and instability. I was referred to another doctor, who I found out later from Dr. Sink that he was his student. After meeting with Dr. Sink, I opted to travel to NYC for the procedure as Dr. Sink made me feel confident that he would in fact “heal me”. From the days leading up to the surgery to the moments prior to the days post surgery, I felt nothing but gratitude for Dr. Sink and his team. However long and rough the 6 months post surgery were, I know the outcome I had was all due to Dr. Sink and his knowledge, skills and humanity. Dr. Sink embodies the definition of physician healer and I am forever grateful to him for granting me a life without the constant pain and mobility restrictions I was experiencing. As a police officer in New Orleans (at the time) my life dependent on being physically fit and ready for duty. Dr. Sink understood that and he made sure my outcome would allow me to better perform my duties. Dr. Sink creates a special bond with his patients and I know he doesn’t take that lightly. During my stay at HSS, back in 2021, there was a snow storm that affected NYC and I was held an extra night or two. Also, due to the surgery taking place post covid, I wasn’t allowed more than one visitor a day and for a max of 3 hours. Dr. Sink made it a point to come visit and sit with me the night I was advised that I was not allowed to be discharged due to the emergency travel restrictions. While he’s a busy doctor and most likely had a ton of work to do, he still made it a point to provide me with some human interaction. He checked on me and we chatted for a bit about topics not relating to my surgical procedure. Dr. Sink is a caring doctor who I am very glad to have met and will forever remember that he changed my life for the better. I would love for Dr. Sink to know that he is appreciated, respected, and will never be forgotten by at least one of his patients, me. Let me also mention that my four legged fur baby, Blue, is incredibly happy that we are able to go on long hikes thanks to Dr. Sink!
