Dr. Huang was recommended to me by Dr. Strickland (my sister). I'd been experiencing leg pain for several years and it was actually starting to cause numbness. When I finally saw my primary care doctor for it, they sent me to physical therapy, which at that time didn't help at all.
Finally I had an MRI and brought it to the local spine center, who recommended an injection in my spine. When I shared this information and the MRI with my sister, she took a look and told me that I had spondylolisthesis, and she would have one of her colleagues take a look.
Dr. Huang looked at the MRI, and suggested I come in, where I got my first X-ray and CAT scan ever. He advised surgery, and my sister tells me that he never does this unless it's absolutely necessary. Further degradation in my L5-S1 could lead to permanent damage. I was able to schedule the surgery fairly quickly. The OR staff was all fantastic - the anesthesiologist was particularly kind and patient with my anxiety about the procedure. I was walking, slowly, the next day, and I have never stopped since. I've been pain free since my surgery, and I cannot recommend Dr. Huang and HSS enough.
