Since having a roller skating accident 40 years ago, I have had three spectacularly successful replacement surgeries at HSS. Two hip replacements, one 23 years ago and the other 10 years ago (both by Dr. Buly).
This year at the age of 80, after being unable to walk more than a few steps for over a year, I had a complete ankle replacement with Dr. Demetracopolous. Apart from being understanding and approachable, Dr. Demetracopolous is a wonderfully skilled surgeon. His team of assistants, nurses and staff are helpful and caring.
After the surgery, I was at HSS for two days with very minimal pain. Recovering at home I had virtually no pain. Six months later, I can walk normally for any distance I want to. HSS has the best facilities, talented surgeons, and caring staff. I am so very grateful, happy, and delighted to be “Back in the Game.”
