Hi, my name is Geisha and this is my story. About two years ago I fell while taking out the trash. I hurt myself pretty bad, but my doctor said everything was fine. I was in constant pain (my pelvis, my back and my legs). During this time I moved from Yonkers to Poughkeepsie. I had to switch doctors and insurances since my previous insurance didn't cover Poughkeepsie. I started to see a new physician that recommended I go to Hospital for Special Surgery for a second opinion since I was in such pain and could barely walk. Prior physicians said I had arthritis and sent me to see a chiropractor, which made my back pain worse. One night I was watching a program on TV and saw Dr Farmer. It was then that I decided to go for a second opinion. And when the young woman who helped me find a physician said "Dr. Farmer", I knew he was a godsend. There are no words to express the love and gratitude I feel for this special man. I was diagnosed with Spondylolisthesis, which is a very painful debilitating condition. Dr. Farmer saw me numerous times before I had my surgery. I was sent to see a neurologist and he made sure I was well informed and prepared for the surgery. Besides being kind and gentle, he is a great surgeon. Usually surgeons seem standoffish. He is a darling. He gave me back my life. I'm not in pain- none!!!! I am able to walk and exercise. I can never thank Dr. Farmer enough for his help. I wish I could do something wonderful for him; so I start with my story. Actually our story because for me, he will always be my hero. Thank you.
