When I first came to HSS I was having trouble just running down the street. If I stood or sat too long, I was in pain. Being young I brushed it off until it became painful to simply walk. As a nurse I needed the ability to move around freely. I didn’t recall a specific injury and I had never had any kind of medical procedure. I was hesitant at first, but ultimately the surgery went really well. I can remember Dr. Coleman saying the tear in my hip was very extensive. Now about seven years after surgery I am competing in triathlons, half marathons, and will run my first NYC marathon this November. Thank you, HSS for giving me the ability to do what I love to do most.
