When my herniated disc took a turn for the worse I went in for a consult with Dr. Albert. Although at that point I could barely stand upright, not to mention walk, I was still hesitant to go under the knife. The logic and reasoning with which he discussed my predicament made perfect sense. Plus, the amount of pain was convincing enough. Two days later I asked for the next available date.
Dr. Albert and the team was amazing. They made me feel at ease going into the surgery. I would not forget the kindness and professionalism of everyone. Not to mention the birthday wishes I got to hear on my way to OR (yes the surgery was on my birthday). Special thanks to Julie, who’s been incredibly helpful and answering all my anxious questions while in recovery.
When Dr. Albert told me the pain will go away almost instantaneously I did not believe, and alas it did. First day post-op I couldn’t believe that I managed to remain standing for longer than 5 minutes. In fact, at one point I burst into signing “I’m still standing” by Elton John without knowing any other lyrics. Fast forward to 7 months later, I’m not only standing, I’m back to being active.
I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday present. I’m forever grateful for allowing me to get my life back. Thank you!
