Elise Weir

I was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis when I was 15. I had been playing soccer for years, and my arthritic right knee was really affecting my playing. Dr. Alexa Adams’ care allowed me to get back on the field quickly. During my junior year of high school, my team took home the New York State Section 1 Title and advanced to the state quarterfinals where we lost on penalty kicks after a double overtime period. I personally scored the winning goal in one of our playoff games. I know that all of it would not have been possible without Dr. Adams’ diagnosis and her continued care. We really appreciate her professionalism, attentiveness, and witty sense of humor. When I transitioned to an adult rheumatologist, the new doctor mentioned that Dr. Adams’ care looked like it had been excellent. Thank you so much!
