After many years of various minor knee injuries and many many hours of physical therapy, I danced the night away at a wedding and immediately wasn’t able to walk. After seeing orthopedic surgeons from Nassau County to NYC I finally received answers to my mysterious injury that no one else was able to diagnose. After months of crutches, canes, knee braces, knee drainage, cortisone shots and many other remedies, Dr. Mayman gave me comfort in knowing that he was confident in how to get me back to my regular life. True to his word, on February 14th, 2020 I underwent a total right knee replacement, which totally changed my world. Although it was more painful and challenging than expected, on August 22nd, 2020 I was able to walk my daughter down the aisle and dance at her wedding with no pain or hesitation. I will be forever grateful to HSS and Dr. Mayman’s team for making a surgery and recovery during a pandemic smooth. They were always available and never let what was going on in the world keep me from receiving proper medical care.
