I had a total knee replacement in July of 2014. Dr. Chit Ranawat was my surgeon. Dr. Ranawat required me to lose 20 pounds prior to surgery as well as maintain an exercise regime including pool walking an hour a day. I also did a fair amount of upper body exercises to increase my upper body strength.
The surgery went well and I was up and about that day. Due to Dr. Ranawat's insistence on preoperative exercise I was dancing on my return home. I am uploading a video of my dance four days after the operation. On day five I was able to go to a farmers market.
I previously had hip surgery at the HSS with similar results in 2008. I highly recommend HSS to all.
