I was searching for a knee replacement surgeon on HSS' website and came across Dr. Jose Rodriguez, who I had seen years ago for a hip injury. Now that I found that he was at HSS, it was a no-brainer in selecting him as my surgeon. Dr Rodriguez replaced my knee and I couldn’t be happier! Him and his team are amazing! The entire process from our first office visit and x-ray to the actual surgery and all the rehab couldn’t have been any smoother. Dr. Rodriguez was very informative and educated me on the entire knee replacement experience and what to expect moving forward. I had minimal to almost no pain that first week, walked into my first outpatient PT session unassisted after two weeks, and was driving myself by week three with no issues. I worked hard on the PT as per Dr. Rodriguez’s instructions and after the third month, any swelling or stiffness was gone. In fact, the only thing that reminds me that I even had a knee replacement is when I look at the scar that you can hardly see! Now I can walk miles a day without ever having to worry about my knee hurting or swelling!
Hey, it’s not the knee God gave me when I was born, but it’s the next best thing! Thanks to Dr. Rodriguez and his team, all that painful arthritis and bone spurs I had in this knee are a distant bad memory! He’s an excellent surgeon and I highly recommend him for knee replacement surgery.
