When I got injured In November 2017 I was a senior in high school at a tournament with my traveling soccer team in North Carolina. I already had plans to play collegiate soccer in 2018. In the soccer game, a girls cleat hit the side of my knee, which resulted in me dislocating my kneecap and tearing my ACL, MCL, and PCL. When finding this out people constantly told me that my soccer career would be over, so I knew I had to go to the #1 place for orthopedics. I reached out to HSS with the help of my coaches and Dr. Nawabi had me come in to discuss the process. We decided to separate the procedures so in December 2017 I had my MCL and PCL done. In April 2018 I had my MCL done again since it didn’t heal properly and my ACL. The process was emotionally and physically tough but I am so grateful to have Dr. Nawabi as my surgeon because he made it possible for me to continue chasing my dream! I am grateful for HSS and the support I had throughout this entire process. Now I am training with my collegiate team and getting ready for full contact in July!
