From the time I met with Doctor Huang to getting back to my normal routine, it has been an extraordinary experience. The staff is the most professional, understanding, and caring bunch. Yes this is my first major surgery, but I would not hesitate in the least to come back if something else did arise. I'm a 51 year old man, Painter by Trade with 4 kids; a girl, 23, the three boys are 8, 5, and 3. I still manage to go the gym 3-4 days a week, so you can imagine I have a very active lifestyle. There were many apprehensions about the surgery, and I sat on it for about 4 years with varying degrees of pain and treatments with different doctors with no relief and symptoms worsening. The biggest challenge for me though was the thought of continuing living with the pain and not being involved physically with my children or continuing to work. April 11, 2017 I went ahead with a L5/S1 Lumbar Fusion/Disc Replacement. Slow recovery, I but did as instructed by my doctors and I'm glad to announce I returned to my job in September!! But best of all I get to play with my family and they won't hear "Not today guys, Daddy needs to take it easy"!! I haven't been fully cleared to do everything but if I continue to do what has been recommended, I see no problems. I thank you!
