In June of 2012, I had surgery on my right knee for a torn meniscus. Six months later, after regular PT sessions, I was still in chronic pain and my mobility was extremely limited. After being referred to a knee replacement specialist (who said I didn't need a replacement) and tested for rheumatoid arthritis which was then ruled out, I made the call that should have been made first. Dr. MacGillivray looked at my most recent x-rays and MRI and immediately diagnosed the problem. Surgery was scheduled and within a matter of weeks, I was pain free. When I returned to his office recently because of swelling in the leg, he again diagnosed it accurately, and I am now in the process of being treated for a secondary condition, which my other doctor's seemed unconcerned about.
