I have to start by saying that this post is long overdue. Even though it has been 2 years since my total ankle replacement with Dr. Demetracopoulos and arthroscopic knee surgery with Dr. Taylor, I must say I am constantly reminded of how grateful I am for them throughout my daily life. I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 2. Fast forward to spring of 2016 when I was referred to Dr. D. because of severe joint damage in my right ankle. I was bone on bone along with loss of mobility. Being 33 years old and a mom of 2 young girls, the pain was so debilitating I was truly afraid as to what would happen. Upon meeting Dr. D. I was immediately put at ease by his calm mannerism, confidence and overall knowledge of the task he was about to perform. After surgery my ankle continued to improve and I am pain-free! About 5 months after surgery Dr. D. referred me to Dr. Taylor because of severe swelling in my left knee also due to rheumatoid arthritis. Once again I immediately felt comfortable and knew I was going to receive the best care possible. Dr. T. is caring, confident and has such a special way about him that leaves you with a feeling that everything will be OK. Since my surgeries I enjoy weight-lifting at the gym and most importantly I am able to care for and keep up with my 2 girls ages 3 & 5. Not only did Dr. Demetracopoulos and Dr. Taylor listen and answer my questions but they instilled a sense of hope in me that I will carry forever. Thank you Dr. D., Dr. T. and staff for getting me back in the game!
