I've been playing sports as long as I can remember. In high school I was on both the varsity baseball and basketball teams. I went to the University of Tennessee to play baseball and had the opportunity to appear in a College World Series. I was drafted by the San Diego Padres in 2005. In 2012, I celebrated earning both a Silver Slugger and Gold Glove Awards while finishing in the top five for the National League Most Valuable Player Award. The 2014 season was not easy one for me. Early in the year, I was diagnosed with a herniated disk in my back. It affected how I played and my quality of life tremendously. I decided to seek out treatment from renowned back specialist, Dr. Frank Cammisa. Dr. Cammisa successfully treated the injury and communicated with me on a weekly basis throughout the remainder of the season. He played an important role in making sure I was healthy and ready to play. I got back to my full ability and was traded to the New York Yankees in July, where I finished the season strong. In the off-season, I signed a four-year contract with the Yankees. After four successful seasons in New York, I returned back to San Diego, where I started my career.
