I would like to share with you how Dr. Frank P. Cammisa, Jr. saved my life.

Over the course of many years, I developed herniated discs and bone spurs that compressed the spinal cord in my neck. I was experiencing extreme pain on a daily basis.

I waited many years before I decided to go through with the surgery. I was told that if I had a small fall or a small accident, the bone spurs could sever my spinal cord and I would become a quadriplegic.

The compression to my spinal cord was from C-4 to C-7.

I decided to have a consultation with Dr. Cammisa. He came highly recommended to me by my neurologist and is the most qualified orthopedic surgeon to perform this type of surgery.

When Dr. Cammisa showed me my brain and cervical MRIs, it was so very frightening to see because there was such severe compression on my spinal cord and very little spinal fluid flowing around my spinal cord.

The duration of the surgery was six hours and it was a success.

I will always be thankful to Dr. Cammisa because he did save my life.

I have always said that he has “hands of gold.” The surgery that he performed is called: anterior cervical decompression, anterior cervical fusion utilizing intervertebral prosthesis, anterior cervical spinal instrumentation and a left iliac crest bone graft.

Today, I can do everything that I couldn’t do before the surgery. I’m enjoying my life and my family and friends and my new grandson!

Thank you Dr. Cammisa, for giving me back my life. Thank you for having faith in me. You told me I was strong, and I am.
