In the spring of my freshman year of high school (2013) I was on my school's varsity track team. I competed in 100 meter hurdles, long jump, high jump, and triple jump. However, my track season was cut short due to chronic hip pain. I had difficulty running and completing everyday activities. In June I went to Dr. Kelly and by early August he discovered that I had a labral tear, hip impingement, and a bone spur. I had surgery at HSS at the end of August and was walking without crutches by the end of September. After about 6 months of physical therapy, I was ready for spring track season. I was back to running hurdles and competing in high jump, long jump, and triple jump without any hip pain by March 2014. I even tied my school's high jump record, was the highest point scorer, and was voted MVP of the varsity team as a sophomore. Without Dr. Kelly and his team, I would not have been able to compete and excel in the sport I love so much.
