I have had a problem with my left foot for as long as I can remember. My fear of foot surgery delayed any notion of fixing this problem for years, that is until I met Dr. Anne Holly Johnson. I had a bunion, toe drift and arthritis causing terrible pain. I wore orthotics which helped to some degree but then I started to have a lot of pain and soreness. I started to notice a change in the way I was walking. Shoes became problematic and I was living in sneakers 24/7. I knew I had to make the decision to have this surgery. I was nervous and worried about bunion surgery but after my initial appointment with Dr. Johnson I knew I was in the right hands, and this was the right decision.
I am now 4 months post-op and I can honestly say that I did not experience pain from this surgery as I thought I would have. What amazes me is that everything you said about the surgery and recovery is exactly what has taken place. My expectations were exceeded, my foot feels and looks great. I am walking better than before the surgery and although I am still healing, I am back in the gym with more confidence.
Dr. Johnson is truly an exceptional surgeon. Not only is she a brilliant surgeon in the operating room she is a trusting, approachable, compassionate person and that is a rare find. I feel very confident that I am in the best care with Dr. Johnson and her entire staff. I will most definitely recommend Dr. Johnson to anyone I know that needs foot surgery. Dr. Johnson also recommended that I see Dr. Jessica Starr because the bones in my foot were soft and I have osteopenia. Dr. Starr is an amazing endocrinologist with a wonderful bedside manner and I feel fortunate to be a patient of hers. I would also like to thank Rebecca Paugh, who answered my many questions no matter how small. I also saw Kayla Hazel for physical therapy who has helped me so much and is extremely knowledgeable that I have already recommended her to several people.
How can you thank someone for allaying your fears and really helping you get back to your life? There are simply not enough words.
Thank you so much for your genius skill and your kindness.
