In the summer of 2022, I began feeling pain in my hips while playing basketball. I got an MRI and found hip impingements and labral tears in both hips. I continued to play through the pain into the Fall season, but could not play without experiencing significant amounts of pain and decreased movement. Because of this, I opted to get an operation. Dr. Nwachukwu was great at explaining what my injury was, what could have caused it, and what the operation and recovery timetable would look like. Being that it was my first major operation, the process felt daunting to me, but Dr. Nwachukwu along with his physician assistants and athletic trainer reassured me that it would be a successful operation and recovery. I am now over 6 months removed from the operation and no longer feel any of the pain that had hindered me before. I am now back to competing at a high level thanks to Dr. Nwachukwu!
