I went to the hospital on January 6, 2014 for a total hip replacement of my left hip, which was arthritic and gave me pain in my hip and lower back. [I had previously had my right hip replaced at the hospital in June 2000 by Dr. Geoffrey Westrich, and it is still going strong and stable, thank you very much.]

Dr. Nestor operated, and by the next day, I was up and walking with the help of the physical therapist. I went home January 9th, and did home exercises until late February when I visited the doctor who gave me the ok to go back to the gym. And there I went, built up the muscles in my leg, and back - the operation evidently took care of my back pain as well as my hip pain.

I worked hard at the gym, and got out on the tennis court in May. Playing singles. I played all summer, during the Christmas holidays, and just ten days ago, running around on the court for an hour. I felt fine afterwards: No pain, and I have not had to take any NSAIDs at all since the operation. I have done a lot of gym work to strengthen my back.

I am so very grateful to Dr. Nestor. Every time I walk normally, with no pain, as I have done for most of my life, I feel that it is a gift. Playing really fast singles tennis is like Christmas. I am uploading a photo taken June 28, 2014. Just returned from playing tennis. Very, very grateful for the wonderful treatment I received at the HSS. Regards to all.
