I was a runner up until about 2 years ago, when one morning after a workout woke up in pain. It took about 4 months but was diagnosed with a hip labral tear. Went to a few doctors and they all told me I was too old for surgery and to give up running. My primary care physician told me to get in touch with Dr. Kelly at HSS. I did and he repaired my tear in July. This past weekend I ran my first race in almost 2 years. I had a pain-free race and have been pain free since the surgery. In my mid 50's I was not ready to give up running. I am thankful to Dr. Kelly and his staff.

And this isn't the first time I got back in the game. In the late 1970's I had an unsuccessful knee surgery in Massachusetts. This was way before the internet. I went to my local library and did research. I learned about HSS and saw Dr. John Insall. He performed many procedures and got me Back in the Game. I am forever grateful to HSS.
