On September 10th, 2017, I was playing a baseball game. I was up at the plate, and after hitting the ball, I was running to first base and heading to second. That is when my kneecap dislocated, causing me to collapse on the floor. A week after recovering from that injury, I went to HSS to see Dr. Fabricant who diagnosed me and said my left leg was out of alignment. He suggested that an osteotomy and a reconstruction of the MPFL ligament that was torn during the process of that injury. On October 25th, 2017, I had the surgery with Dr. Fabricant and had rehab shortly after. Through this process I wasn't sure that I was going to be able to play competitive baseball again. After intense physical therapy for 5 months, I made my first appearance back onto the baseball field on March 12th, 2018. Playing my first game of the season felt great with no complications and continued to get faster and stronger to this day. Without the care of HSS and Dr. Fabricant, none of this would have been possible.
