Over the last year, my right hip pain progressively worsened to the point where it made it hard for me to walk. In spite of this, I absolutely did not want to consider surgery. One day at the pool in my gym, I met a woman who had recently undergone a total hip replacement surgery. After speaking to her about her surgery and learning what a difference it made in her life, I started to consider having hip surgery.
I was strongly recommended to see Dr. Alexander McLawhorn, a hip and knee surgeon at HSS. I underwent my total hip replacement surgery one month after my first appointment with Dr. McLawhorn. Two and a half hours after waking up from anesthesia, I was able to walk to the restroom with a walker. After two nights in the hospital, I left with a cane.
I don't have the words to express my deepest thanks to Dr. Alexander McLawhorn and his team. I underwent surgery on October 19, 2018. It is now three months after my surgery and I am happy to report that I can walk long distances. I don't have pain and I don't limp.
Dr. Alexander McLawhorn is a highly professional, well-mannered, kind and caring surgeon. Most importantly, as I was wheeled into the operating room on the day of my surgery, I knew that I was in good hands. Dr. Alexander McLawhorn gave me back my active, happy life.
I extend my deepest thanks to Molly Morris, PA, who to this day, attends to all my little questions and is very helpful. I am also very grateful to the amazing staff of nurses at HSS, who are dedicated, hard-working, and so very helpful to patients like me after surgery.
