As I am writing this I am still in disbelief that I will no longer be in pain! I had end-stage arthritis of my right hip and was in severe pain every day for the last year and a half. I did extensive research and had seen a few other orthopedic surgeons prior to finding Dr. McLawhorn. I wanted a doctor who not only specialized in hip replacement surgery because I am considered a young candidate, but one that also offered the anterior approach. When I met Dr. McLawhorn I was open to whatever he thought was best for me but wanted the option. I rang in the New Year with a new hip done with the anterior approach! I followed all of Dr. McLawhorn’s very specific instructions. After 1 week I knew the pain that I had experienced prior to surgery was gone! I can not begin to express my gratitude for Dr. McLawhorn’s expertise, professionalism, and compassion! The entire team is amazing. Alissa and Molly, Dr. McLawhorn’s PAs, were very quick to respond to any questions I had through the portal and my first surgical assist Ryan (PA) was wonderful as well! I have told multiple people about Dr. McLawhorn and HSS! There truly aren’t enough words to explain how impressive this process was and I am forever grateful for the outstanding care that I received!
