First, my thanks to Dr. Jordan Metzl for giving me back the use of my knee and shoulder.

Last year a Baker's cyst popped in the back of my left knee. I didn't know that at the time but when it was difficult to walk, I had a good friend recommend a doctor at HSS. His name - Dr. Jordan Metzl.

From the moment I met him I knew I was in good hands! He sent me for an x-ray and then an MRI and it was determined that a baker cyst popped and a slight tear in my meniscus along with arthritis. The plan was orthovisc shots - 3 to be exact - over the course of several weeks. After the shots Dr. Metzl sent me for physical therapy. My last shot was August 11, 2017 and thankfully, I'm still feeling great. I can run up and down stairs - having the use of my knee again is amazing! You don't realize how much you miss something until you can't use it. Dr. Metzl gave me back my knee.

However, it didn't stop there. I went back to Dr. Metzl in December 2017 as my right shoulder was painful. After an x-ray and an MRI, I had a tear in my rotator cuff. For someone who is the least athletic, I had a major athletic issue.

Dr. Metzl decided to try PRP. Although insurance didn't cover it, I was all for it. I had PRP done in February 2018 and when I went back in March for my follow up visit, I was able to lift my arm over my head. Once again, back for physical therapy at Dr. Metzl's recommendation and I now have my arm back.

Words can't describe the loss of being able to use one's limbs. It is a horrible feeling. Thankfully Dr. Metzl is kind and innovative and knew exactly what to do in both instances. Thank you Dr. Metzl for making me whole again!!
