October 2019 is when the pain began. It went from my spine down to my left hip, down to my left ankle, and fired back up to my thinking. This all happened following a rough CrossFit workout where I repeatedly did heavy snatches from the floor to relieve my anxiety and stress of work and life. Fast forward 4 years come October of this year, I am almost at my hardware removal of my left PAO. Dr. Sink and his team saved my life in more than one way. I have my left hip back, my SI joint no longer hurts, and I am stronger physically (almost!) and mentally than I’ve ever been.
Dr. Sink referred to me to Dr. Prather the summer of 2021. He wanted me to start with pain management in order to narrow the options for surgery, which would be an invasive procedure such as a PAO. Dr. Prather saved my life. She helped me manage my pain for two years as we worked towards surgery, which occurred this past January. She helped me physically, mentally, emotionally, and helped diagnose other health issues. She has made me a better person all around and an advocate for myself and others going through similar issues or health issues in general. Dr. Prather and her office staff have responded in a timely and professional manner.
Because of Dr. Sink and Dr. Prather, incidental findings through imaging were found and saved my life even further. It’s been a VERY long and stressful journey, but I am on the other side. He was patient, informative, optimistic, and real throughout. He saw me as the patient and assured me that everyone had a different story. This was a constant conversation, but I’m appreciative of it. Without him, Nurse Katrina, his office staff, Dr. Heidi Prather and her entire staff, Dr. Baxi, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and everyone else in between I am most thankful. I’m almost back in every game!
HSS feels like family. I am thankful for having my bones stronger and my life back.
