A year ago, I sat in a doctor’s office hearing words that felt heavy and final. I had been diagnosed with hip impingement and torn labrums in both hips, and the message was clear: surgery was my only option. Not just one surgery—two. The recovery would be long and daunting, leaving me unable to walk normally for close to a year and sidelined from running for likely two. For someone who loved to run, it felt like my world had been put on pause indefinitely. But deep down, something didn’t sit right. I wasn’t ready to accept that this was the only path forward.
That’s when I decided to seek a second opinion at HSS I went in hoping for a different perspective, and that’s exactly what I found. Under the care of Dr. Nawabi my situation was met with optimism instead of finality. Rather than rushing into surgery, he saw the potential for a different path and connected me with Daniel Supple which ultimately changed everything. From the very beginning, Daniel brought an unwavering belief that recovery without surgery was possible. His positivity, consistency, and commitment at every single session made all the difference.
Week after week, I showed up determined to rebuild my body—and Daniel met that determination with expertise and relentless support. He challenged me, pushed me beyond what I thought were my limits, and never accepted anything less than my full effort. Through his guidance, I learned that strength and mobility are not separate from running—they are the foundation of it. Every exercise was intentional, every progression meaningful, and over time, those small wins built into something much bigger.
With Daniel’s partnership, I didn’t just recover, I became stronger, more balanced, and more in tune with my body than ever before. The surgeries that once felt inevitable slowly became unnecessary as I proved to myself, step by step, that there was another way forward.
And then came the moment that made it all worth it. Standing at the finish line of my first half marathon since my injury, I felt an overwhelming sense of pride. I ran it completely pain-free, with a smile on my face—and even more, I achieved a personal best time. What once felt impossible became reality, and I came out of this journey not only avoiding two major surgeries, but stronger than I had ever been.
This is only the beginning. My next goal is to run the New York City Marathon and with the help of HSS I am confident I will get there. See you at the finish line!
