It started around June 2016 when I experienced a lot of pain and numbness to my entire right leg. I was seen by a spine surgeon at Columbia Hospital, and after I had an MRI and CT the surgeon informed me that I need to have a surgery and did not suggest any other treatment. I was hesitant and I searched for a second opinion and that's when I approached Dr. Matthew E. Cunningham's office at HSS. When I called the office Ms. Micky answered the phone and she was very professional and comforting, and helped me with all what I need to know and bring in my first visit to the doctor. At the appointment day, I was seen first by Ms. Brenda, the doctor's PA who was very warm and patient and listened to me explaining my condition for a long time. Then it was the doctor's turn to see me and I can only say without exaggeration the way he was listening to me patiently and then explaining to me my condition and what is needed to be done to correct my condition, I felt such a confidence and faith in the doctor that I decided to have my back operation to be done only by this doctor. There after I was seen by a charming lady named Tina who took care of me as a long time warm friend explaining to me all the necessary paper work to be filled out. Thereafter I had the operation done on October 31st and I can say that three month's after the operation, I feel a different person with full of hope and looking forward to a complete recovery and getting on with a normal life like before. I feel blessed judging from my experience, I had the best doctor and I consider him my hero. I am also very grateful to the excellent staff that made my journey hassle free.
