Dr. Elizabeth Gausden is an outstanding surgeon, I feel lucky to have been her patient and so will you.
As a teenager I had a severe skiing accident, my hip was put back together with 18 screws and 3 plates, I was lucky to not only survive but to have lived a very active life running, skiing and even sky diving. Even though I knew at some point I would need a hip replacement, I expected that to be in my 60s.
In my late 40s I started to experience debilitating hip pain. I spent years in and out of physical therapy and seeing different doctors. Ultimately I realized I needed a total hip replacement regardless of being (relatively) young and needed to find the most talented surgeon to take on my complex case.
Dr. Gausden took the time to understand my needs, background and challenges; provide direct and clear set of options; and in my case a total hip replacement including a robotic surgical plan to take into account existing screws and plates in the hip. Her deep experience in replacement, reconstruction and trauma ensured she had the ability to tackle my case with ease. Her bedside manner is friendly and approachable, as is that of her whole team.
Most importantly after a successful hip replacement I am walking and moving pain-free and expect to be back skiing next season! I'm glad I didn't wait.
I couldn't ask for more in a surgeon - Dr. G is highly recommended!
