After months of seeing doctors about a presumed groin pull, I met Dr. Coleman at HSS. He suggested the source of pain was actually a labral tear caused by an impingement. As a senior in high school preparing to join the Williams College tennis team in the fall, I wanted the best of both worlds: to compete for my high school team that spring and for my college tennis team in the fall. Dr. Coleman explained the arthroscopic surgery procedure and the subsequent recovery in terms of time, effort and commitment. We scheduled my surgery as soon as possible with the goal of returning to the courts in short order. After a successful surgery and continued guidance by Dr. Coleman, I returned to competition exactly two months after surgery. I was able to rejoin the starting lineup and contribute to our team alongside my best friends and Quad-Captains. We captured the 2010 New Jersey State Championship with a 3-2 finals victory in which I was fortunate to contribute the deciding point. The next four years, I competed as a member of the Williams College Tennis Team that captured the 2013 NCAA Championship. My hip stayed healthy throughout those four years. Dr. Coleman played a major role in all of this, and I thank him and his team for their continued support.
